BENIN CITY – The Chairman of the National Youth Council of Nigeria (NYCN), Edo State Chapter, Comrade Moses, has congratulated the 18 newly elected local government chairmen in Edo State, assuring them of the council’s support in promoting youth development and grassroots governance.
In a congratulatory message issued following the conclusion of the Edo State local government elections, Comrade Moses welcomed the chairmen-elect into office and expressed optimism that their administration would usher in a new era of progress across the state’s 18 local government areas.
He said the NYCN Edo State Chapter is committed to partnering with the new council leaders to implement programmes that will positively impact young people and contribute to the overall development of the state.

According to him, the council already has 18 Local Government Youth Council Coordinators across the state who are prepared to work closely with the newly elected chairmen in driving community development and youth-focused initiatives.
“We welcome all the newly elected local government chairmen into office and assure them of our readiness to partner with their administrations. Our 18 Local Government Youth Council Coordinators are on ground and ready to support programmes that will make Edo State shine,” he said.
Comrade Moses also commended Governor Monday Okpebholo for what he described as a historic commitment to youth inclusion in governance by supporting the emergence of young and dynamic leaders at the grassroots.
He described the development as a demonstration that “it is truly youth o’clock,” adding that young leaders have the capacity to deliver effective governance when given the opportunity.
The NYCN chairman further expressed appreciation to the Edo State Commissioner for Youth Affairs for supporting youth empowerment initiatives in the state, while also thanking the Minister of Youth Development for promoting policies aimed at advancing the interests of Nigerian youths.
He urged the newly elected council chairmen to maintain close collaboration with youth organizations and community stakeholders in order to deliver meaningful development and improve the welfare of residents across Edo State
