Edo State Governor, Senator Monday Okpebholo, has sworn in Hon. Terry Igiebor as Chairman of the Edo State Ecological Funding and Management Commission, charging him and other newly appointed officials to work with dedication for the people of the state.

Igiebor was sworn in on Thursday at the Government House in Benin City alongside other members of the commission.

His inauguration followed his nomination by Governor Okpebholo and subsequent confirmation by the Edo State House of Assembly.

Speaking at the swearing-in ceremony, Governor Okpebholo congratulated Igiebor and the other appointees, but reminded them that their new responsibilities came with significant expectations.

The governor urged the new commission leadership to remain dedicated and focused, stressing the need for hard work and cooperation in delivering on the administration’s objectives.

“The task before you is enormous, it is going to be difficult, but with your determination, we can achieve whatever we want to achieve,” Okpebholo said.

He called on the appointees to work together towards a common goal and ensure that their responsibilities translate into meaningful benefits for the people of Edo State.

Igiebor Assures Governor of Commitment

Responding on behalf of members of the Ecological Funding and Management Commission, Igiebor thanked Governor Okpebholo for the opportunity to serve, describing his appointment as a rare privilege.

He assured the governor that the commission would give its best towards the realisation of the administration’s SHINE Agenda.

Igiebor also expressed confidence that the governor would be proud of their performance at the end of their tenure.

His remarks underline his readiness to take on the responsibilities of leading the commission and working with other members to fulfil its mandate.

Focus on Edo’s Ecological Challenges

The Edo State Ecological Funding and Management Commission has an important responsibility in the management of ecological funding and interventions across the state.

Its work is expected to have implications for communities affected by environmental challenges, including flooding, erosion and other forms of ecological degradation.

For Igiebor, his assumption of office therefore comes with the responsibility of helping ensure that ecological interventions are properly managed and directed towards areas where they are most needed.

The new chairman brings experience in business and public service to the assignment. He previously served as a member of the Edo State Audit Service Commission.

With his swearing-in now completed, Igiebor is expected to settle into his new role and begin working with other members of the commission towards delivering on the mandate entrusted to them by the Edo State Government.

His first message to the administration was one of commitment: that he and his colleagues would give their best to ensure the SHINE Agenda is achieved and that their tenure produces results the governor and people of Edo State can be proud of.
