Gov Okpebholo suspends primary healthcare chief over alleged financial misconduct
EdoToday reorts that the Edo State Governor, Senator Monday Okpebholo, has suspended the Executive Secretary of the Edo State Primary Healthcare Development Agency, Dr. Caulson Osoikhia Oahimire, following allegations of financial and official misconduct.
The suspension was announced in a statement issued on Tuesday by the Secretary to the State Government, Umar Ikhilor, in Benin City.
The statement read, “The Executive Governor of Edo State, Senator Monday Okpebholo, has ordered the immediate suspension of the Executive Secretary, Edo State Primary Healthcare Development Agency, Dr. Caulson Osoikhia Oahimire over allegations of grave financial and official infractions.”
It added that the most senior staff member of the agency would assume leadership in an acting capacity while a special committee is constituted to investigate the allegations.
“Consequently, the most senior staff of the agency will act in functioning capacity pending the outcome of a special committee to be constituted by the government to investigate the various allegations,” the statement said.
