Edo State Governor Monday Okpebholo has inaugurated four government boards and committees as part of efforts to strengthen governance and improve service delivery across the state.
The bodies were inaugurated at the Edo State Government House in Benin City on Thursday, September 3, 2026.
The newly inaugurated bodies cover religious pilgrimage affairs, consumer protection and rural road development.
Here is the full list of the four government bodies inaugurated by Governor Okpebholo.
1. Edo State Muslim Pilgrims Welfare Board
The Edo State Muslim Pilgrims Welfare Board is one of the bodies inaugurated by the governor to oversee matters relating to the welfare and interests of Muslim pilgrims from the state.
Mallam Musa Muhammad Uduimoh was inaugurated as Chairman of the board.
Speaking after the inauguration, Uduimoh thanked the governor for the opportunity to serve and said the board would support the administration in providing efficient and transparent services to intending pilgrims.

2. Edo State Christian Pilgrims Welfare Board
The Edo State Christian Pilgrims Welfare Board was also inaugurated during the ceremony.
Very Rev. Fr. Alfred Aronegbe Agbonlahor was inaugurated as Chairman of the board.
Agbonlahor thanked Governor Okpebholo for the confidence placed in the members and pledged that the board would work to promote the interests and welfare of Christian pilgrims from Edo State.
3. Edo State Consumer Protection Committee
The third body inaugurated was the Edo State Consumer Protection Committee.
Iyamu Osaro was inaugurated as Chairman of the committee.
The committee is expected to focus on protecting consumers and promoting fairness and accountability in commercial activities across the state.
Osaro thanked the governor for constituting the committee and pledged the members’ commitment to carrying out their responsibilities.
4. Edo State Rural Access Roads Agency (RARA)
The fourth government body inaugurated was the Edo State Rural Access Roads Agency, known as RARA.
Momodu Oghenakhoghie Goodluck was inaugurated as the Director-General of the agency.
RARA is focused on rural road access, an area that directly affects movement, trade and access to communities across Edo State.
Governor Okpebholo charged the newly inaugurated members and officials to approach their responsibilities with integrity, humility, dedication and accountability.
He reminded them that their appointments were not only a responsibility to the people of Edo State but also a responsibility before God.
The governor urged the appointees to work together, place public interest above personal considerations and ensure that their decisions produce meaningful results for residents.
The inauguration was attended by Deputy Governor Dennis Idahosa, Secretary to the State Government Umar Musa Ikhilor, Chief of Staff Yakubu Musa and other government officials and dignitaries.
