NAQS Recruitment 2026: FG Issues Fresh Warning to Applicants

NAQS Recruitment

SHARES

The Nigeria Agricultural Quarantine Service (NAQS) has issued a fresh warning to applicants participating in its 2026 recruitment exercise, urging them to disregard unverified information circulating on social media.

The warning affects applicants across Nigeria, including those from Edo State who applied for positions in the federal government recruitment exercise.

According to NAQS, misleading information about the recruitment process has been circulating online, including claims of secret training sessions, alleged Computer-Based Test (CBT) questions and photographs of individuals wearing uniforms that do not correspond with the agency’s official appearance.

The agency said applicants should rely only on information released through its recognised communication channels as the recruitment process continues.

NAQS stated that the recruitment is being conducted according to the procedures established for the exercise.

The process has already involved online applications and a CBT assessment, with candidates who progressed to the next stage receiving instructions concerning physical screening.

NAQS Warns Against Fake Recruitment Information

The agency said it became aware of several social media posts and materials being presented as genuine NAQS recruitment information.

Some of the materials include photographs of people in questionable NAQS uniforms, alleged examination questions and social media accounts reportedly created in the names of NAQS officials.

NAQS warned applicants not to rely on such materials when making decisions about their participation in the recruitment exercise.

The agency also appealed to bloggers, content creators and other online publishers to verify recruitment information before sharing it with the public.

Applicants should therefore be cautious about messages claiming to provide inside information about the recruitment process, particularly when such claims are not supported by an official NAQS announcement.

Not Every Applicant Will Reach the Final Stage

NAQS also clarified that the large number of people who applied for the recruitment means that not every applicant will progress through all stages of the exercise.

Candidates who reach the physical screening stage will still have to meet the required conditions before proceeding to subsequent stages.

This means that being invited for screening does not automatically guarantee final selection.

Applicants are advised to carefully follow the instructions communicated to them and provide any required documents or information within the specified period.

Applicants Told to Follow Official NAQS Channels

NAQS urged candidates to obtain recruitment updates directly from the agency rather than relying on screenshots, forwarded messages or social media accounts claiming to speak on behalf of the service.

The agency identified its official website and designated communication channels as the appropriate sources for information concerning the recruitment exercise.

Applicants can also contact NAQS through its official email address, contact@naqs.gov.ng, for relevant enquiries.

The warning is particularly important as recruitment exercises often attract fraudulent messages and individuals attempting to mislead applicants.

Candidates who participated in the NAQS recruitment are therefore advised to remain patient and verify any new information before taking action.

The Nigeria Agricultural Quarantine Service said it remains committed to conducting the recruitment exercise in a fair, transparent and credible manner.

What NAQS Recruitment Applicants Should Do Now

Applicants who took part in the 2026 recruitment exercise should:

  • Check for recruitment updates through official NAQS communication channels.
  • Follow any screening instructions sent to them.
  • Avoid relying on alleged CBT questions circulating on social media.
  • Be cautious of unofficial accounts claiming to represent NAQS officials.
  • Ignore claims of secret recruitment training unless officially confirmed.
  • Avoid paying anyone who claims to have access to recruitment officials or selection lists.
  • Verify any recruitment information before sharing it with other applicants.

For job seekers in Edo State and other parts of Nigeria, the latest warning does not mean the recruitment exercise has been cancelled. Rather, NAQS is asking applicants to disregard misleading information and continue to follow the official process.

EdoToday will continue to provide updates on major federal and Edo State recruitment opportunities as new information becomes available.
