Edo State Appoints Prof. Victor Adetimirin Olawale as Vice Chancellor of Edo University, Iyamho

The Edo State Government has officially announced the appointment of Prof. Victor Adetimirin Olawale as the new Vice Chancellor of Edo University, Iyamho. The announcement, made on August 8, 2025, follows the approval of the state’s Governor, His Excellency Senator Monday Okpebholo, and takes immediate effect.

Prof. Olawale, a Professor of Agronomy, holds a B.Sc. in Agriculture, as well as an M.Sc. and Ph.D. in Plant Breeding and Genetics, all from the University of Ibadan. He has served in various senior academic and administrative positions, including Head of Department, Dean of Faculty, and Director of Academic Planning, contributing significantly to curriculum development, research innovation, and institutional reforms.

Widely published in reputable local and international journals, Prof. Olawale has supervised numerous postgraduate students to successful completion. His extensive experience and commitment to academic excellence are expected to further strengthen Edo University’s standing as a center of learning and research excellence in Nigeria and beyond.
