Mudiame University Offers 50% Engineering Tuition Waiver for New Students From Edo State

Mudiame University, Irrua, Edo State, has announced a 50 per cent tuition fee waiver for new students from Edo State seeking admission to study Mechanical and Materials Engineering.

The initiative is targeted at the university’s new intake and is aimed at encouraging more young people in Edo State to pursue engineering while helping to develop the technical skills required in Nigeria’s industrial and energy sectors.

The announcement was made by the university’s Chancellor and Managing Director of Mudiame International Limited, Prof. Sunny Eromosele.

Eromosele said the initiative is designed to promote indigenous engineering expertise, local content development and technological innovation.

“We’re offering a 50 per cent tuition fee discount for students who want to study Mechanical and Materials Engineering,” he said.

He encouraged prospective students to apply before the end of September 2026, citing the planned closure of the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board’s admission cap for the month.

“They should apply immediately, before the end of this month, because JAMB has said that by the end of September they will close the cap,” he said.

The university said the initiative is also intended to help address the shortage of skilled engineering professionals in Nigeria.

According to Eromosele, Mechanical and Materials Engineering offers graduates career opportunities across several industries, making it important to encourage more young people to study the discipline.

“The idea is to inspire young people to take up the course because there are tremendous career opportunities. Graduates are virtually job-ready by the time they leave school,” he said.

He said Mudiame University is using the technical expertise and industrial experience of Mudiame International Limited to strengthen engineering education and research.

The university has invested in laboratory and workshop facilities where engineering students can develop practical skills and participate in research.

He added that the facilities were developed from Mudiame International Limited’s experience in engineering and manufacturing, particularly in the oil and gas sector.
