Mudiame University Vice Chancellor Congratulates Edo Specialist Hospital on 7th Anniversary

The Vice Chancellor of Mudiame University, Irrua, Engr. Prof. Emmanuel Aluyor, has congratulated the Chief Medical Director, management, staff and the entire Edo Specialist Hospital community on the occasion of the hospital’s 7th Anniversary Celebration, describing the milestone as a celebration of seven years of excellence in specialist healthcare delivery and medical innovation in Edo State.

Prof. Aluyor joined other distinguished guests at the anniversary celebration held in Benin City, where stakeholders gathered to reflect on the hospital’s achievements and its contributions to healthcare delivery since its establishment.

The celebration drew a high-profile audience, including representatives of the Edo State Government, healthcare professionals, traditional rulers, development partners, captains of industry and other eminent personalities. Governor Monday Okpebholo was represented by his Chief of Staff, Hon. Gani Audu Yakubu, who joined other guests in commemorating the hospital’s seven years of service and impact.

Speaking at the event, Prof. Aluyor commended Edo Specialist Hospital for its remarkable achievements in specialist healthcare, residency training, medical innovation and patient-centred care. He noted that the hospital has grown into one of Edo State’s leading healthcare institutions through its commitment to quality service, professionalism and continuous improvement.

Highlighting the partnership between both institutions, the Vice Chancellor reaffirmed Mudiame University’s commitment to its collaboration with Edo Specialist Hospital through the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) signed to strengthen medical education and clinical training.

He said the partnership reflects a shared vision of producing highly skilled healthcare professionals while advancing excellence in medical education, research and patient care. According to him, stronger collaboration between universities and specialist hospitals is essential to developing a healthcare workforce capable of meeting Nigeria’s growing medical needs.

Prof. Aluyor expressed confidence that Edo Specialist Hospital would continue to raise the standard of specialist healthcare through innovation, professionalism and unwavering dedication to quality patient care.

He also commended Governor Monday Okpebholo for his continued support for the healthcare sector in Edo State, noting that the administration’s investment in medical institutions is helping to strengthen healthcare delivery and improve access to quality medical services across the state.

The Vice Chancellor wished the hospital continued growth and success as it advances its mission of providing accessible, affordable and world-class healthcare services to the people of Edo State and Nigeria.
