By EdoToday Newsroom – Edo State Governor, Senator Monday Okpebholo, has approved the appointment of 20 new permanent secretaries to strengthen the leadership of the Edo State Public Service.
The appointments were announced in an official notice signed by the Head of Service, Dr Anthony Osas Okungbowa, who said the newly appointed officers would be sworn into office on a date to be announced by the state government.
Permanent secretaries are the highest-ranking career civil servants in government ministries. They oversee the day-to-day administration of ministries, supervise policy implementation and ensure that government programmes continue regardless of changes in political leadership.
The latest appointments are expected to fill strategic leadership positions across ministries, departments and agencies (MDAs), where the officers will work with commissioners and other government officials to implement policies and coordinate public service operations.
Although the government has yet to announce the ministries where each of the new permanent secretaries will be posted, the appointments are expected to strengthen administrative efficiency across the state civil service.
