Joseph Ikpea has been officially sworn in as the substantive senator representing Edo Central, replacing Governor Monday Okpebholo of Edo State. The ceremony took place on Wednesday at the National Assembly.
During the oath-taking, Senate President Godswill Akpabio welcomed Ikpea to the chambers and acknowledged the dignitaries who accompanied him, emphasizing the senator’s role in national legislation and governance.
The swearing-in of Ikpea ensures continued representation for Edo Central in the Senate and marks an important milestone for the constituency following Okpebholo’s transition from the National Assembly to the state governorship.
