A Nigerian youth advocate and feminist leader, Oruche Ogeamara Precious, popularly known as Mama Pee, was allegedly attacked by thugs loyal to the former Labour Party (LP) National Chairman, Julius Abure, at the Benin Airport, Edo State.
A video currently circulating online shows Mama Pee with bloodstains on her body, visibly distressed as she accused Abure of orchestrating the attack. In the viral clip, she claimed the assault happened shortly after she confronted him at the airport, where she openly expressed her dissatisfaction with his leadership of the Labour Party and his role in Nigeria’s political landscape.
Mama Pee alleged that Abure had “sold out” the Labour Party to opposition interests during the last election and further accused him of being responsible for Peter Obi’s departure from the party.
Her outcry has sparked outrage across social media, with many Nigerians condemning the alleged assault and calling for investigations into the matter. At the time of filing this report, Julius Abure has not issued an official response to the allegations.
The incident has reignited discussions on internal crises within the Labour Party, which has faced factional disputes and leadership struggles since the 2023 elections.
