BENIN: Edo State Commissioner for Health, Hon. (Dr) Cyril Oshiomhole has restated that the Governor Monday Okpebholo led administration will continue to intensify its commitment to fighting deadly diseases in our communities and improving the healthcare sector by ensuring appropriate, effective and efficient service delivery across the state, as well as mechanisms that can enable the right intervention to be delivered at the right time.
The Honourable Commissioner gave the assurance on Monday in a statement during the commemoration of ‘World Hepatitis Day’, adding that the administration of His Excellency, Senator Monday Okpebholo will continue to strengthen access to health services, create more awareness, and ensure that treatment options reach those who need them most, above all, guaranteed the development of the sector, stressing that there will be unhindered investment to develop the sector, innovative healthcare delivery.
Oshiomhole said, “World Hepatitis Day presents another opportunity to remind our people that hepatitis remains a serious health concern one that often goes unnoticed until it becomes life-threatening. In many cases, individuals live with the disease without knowing, putting themselves and others at risk of complications such as liver damage, cancer, or even death.”
