On Tuesday, January 14, 2025, Rollanson Aituari Odeh, the recently hired general manager of Edo Queens Football Club, was introduced by Hon. Amadin Desmond Enabulele, Executive Chairman of the Edo State Sports Commission, along with other senior government officials.
Greg Ikhenoba has been confirmed as the Bendel Insurance Football Club’s substantive head coach, and the recently hired Austin Iyamu and Peter Obanor have been named technical director and team manager, respectively.
The new Festival Hall at Government House in Benin City will host the unveiling ceremony, which is scheduled to start at 10:00 AM. The distinguished senator, Monday Okpebholo, the executive governor of Edo State, is the special guest of honor, together with his deputy, the right honorable Dennis Idahosa.
It is anticipated that these recently hired officers will use their experience to help the clubs advance and flourish more quickly. To strengthen the squad for the upcoming season, the Edo State government, the reigning NWFL champions, has added 13 new players.
In an effort to strengthen their club for the second round challenge, insurance is also actively involved in the NPFL transfer market. Along with the coaches, the players will also be presented during the ceremony. The recently appointed executive chairman of the Edo State Sports Commission claims that he has been tasked by Senator Monday Okpebholo, the executive governor of Edo State, with ensuring a turnaround in the sports industry.
Meanwhile, all is now set for the commencement of the Nigeria Women Football League for 2025 season as Edo Queens prepare to host Abia Angels Football Club of Abia State on Wednesday January 15th at the Samuel Ogbemudia Stadium Benin City. Kick off time is 6pm.
The NWFL league opener will attract Football personalities in NFF and NWFL to Benin City.
