In order to prepare potential pilgrims in the Edo South senatorial district for the 2025 Hajj, the Edo State Muslim Pilgrims Welfare Board organized a sensitization program in Edo South, Benin City, on January 1st, 2025.
The event brought together important Islamic organizations, such as the Edo South League of Imams, FOMWAN, and Edo State Council for Islamic Affairs, among others, and provided a forum for the Board to inform prospective pilgrims about the procedures and requirements for a seamless pilgrimage in 2025.
Alhaji Eranga Muhammadkabir Abdulkabir, the Executive Secretary of the Board noted, “We assure you of the maximum support from our team. We wish to announce that Hajj payment process has commenced with a deposit of 8.4 million Naira required by January 31, 2025”
He also highlighted the introduction of an installment payment option, which allows pilgrims to make partial payments ranging from 1 million to 8.4 million Naira.
Abdulkabir acknowledged that the reimbursement procedure for the 2023 Hajj refund has started, allaying worries from prior years. In order to guarantee fast returns, he urged beneficiaries who have not yet submitted their account information to do so right now. Mallam Musa Muhammad Udwimoh, the chairman of the Edo State Muslim Pilgrims Welfare Board, urged everyone involved to work together to ensure a successful and seamless pilgrimage process.
He gave pilgrims his word that the Board would do everything in its power to support them both before and during the actual journey. Leading speakers at the occasion, such as Mallam Abdulazeez Igbinidu, the Chairman of the Edo State Council for Islamic Affairs, and Alhaji Abdulfatah Enabulele, the Chief Imam of Benin Central Mosque, highlighted the value of cooperation and spiritual preparedness for a successful Hajj.
The Board reaffirmed its dedication to supporting all intending pilgrims, emphasizing that every effort is being made to ensure a hitch-free and spiritually enriching experience for all participants.
