Newly promoted officers in the Command have been urged by Umoru Ozigi, the Edo State Commissioner of Police, to step up their efforts to protect people and property in the state.
On Monday, as he decorated the promoted officers, he gave the charge. Ozigi, who received assistance from the Command’s Management Team during the event, said the decoration came after the Police Service Commission-approved promotion exercise.
He claimed that the ceremony demonstrated the police’s desire to honor diligence and hard work. As he congratulated the recently promoted officers, Ozigi underlined the value of professionalism and dedication.
The names of those promoted to the position of Chief Superintendent of Police (CSP) were announced in a statement by Eno Ikoedion, the Command’s Deputy Public Relations Officer. They were Kontongs Bello (DPO LoveWorld), Moses Yamu (PPRO), Ogah Gabriel (DPO Uromi), Osagie Godspower (Commander Intelligence Rapid Response Squad), and Brown Jude (DPO Okhuiahe Division).
The Edo CP’s personal assistant, Christian Akpa; former Deputy PPRO Jennifer Iwegbu; and the Command’s OC Surveillance, Adebayo Ayomide Adetunji, were all promoted to the position of Deputy Superintendent of Police. In exchange, the newly promoted officers promised the Command that they would carry out their responsibilities in a professional manner.
