His Excellency Monday Okpebholo, the Executive Governor of Edo State, received a courtesy call from Joseph Tegbe, the Director-General of the Nigeria-China Strategic Partnership (NCSP), in Benin City.
Following up on earlier meetings with the Edo State Investment Promotion Office (ESIPO) and its Managing Director, Mr. Amen Odigie, this meeting was centered on developing a partnership to leverage Chinese investments in important industries, including mining, infrastructure development, agro-processing, and agriculture, in order to propel progressive development in Edo State.
As stated in his “Budget of Renewed Hope for a Rising Edo,” Governor Okpebholo’s government is dedicated to transforming Edo State through large investments in infrastructure and other capital projects. The goal of the vision is to establish a supportive atmosphere that allows people to realize their greatest potential.
Tegbe emphasized how strategic investments might benefit both parties, which is consistent with the larger objectives of Nigeria and China’s all-encompassing strategic alliance.
The NCSP seeks to develop economic connections and ensure reciprocal gains by rebalancing trade between China and Nigeria. An important step in strengthening state-level economic ties between Nigeria and China is this summit. The favorable result paves the way for further partnerships that can have a big influence on Edo State and other subnationals’ economic environments.
According to His Excellency President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda, the NCSP seeks to advance industrialization, economic diversification, and long-term growth by spearheading strategic investments and important initiatives.
