MTN Nigeria’s Go Make A Difference (Go M.A.D.) campaign, a national initiative honoring Nigerians who are promoting good change in their communities, brought inspiration and vitality to Benin City over the weekend.
The event, which has visited cities including Abuja, Enugu, Calabar, and Ibadan, has inspired and assisted local changemakers by fusing digital experiences with cultural presentations.
Olaniyi Alabi, Senior Manager for Sales and Trade Development at MTN Nigeria, spoke at the event and emphasized the campaign’s emphasis on innovation and resilience. He reaffirmed MTN’s dedication to identifying and assisting Nigerians who, in spite of obstacles, push the envelope.
The Benin version included a thrilling blend of interactive games, dance displays, DJ sets, and virtual reality experiences.
The Icons of Impact session, where local changemakers described their own paths, was a pivotal moment. Sports coach and mentor Princess Omoyemwen Adeyinka Afolabi talked about her nearly two-decade-long goal of using sport to change the lives of young people. She has personally paid for school tuition and educational supplies, and she has assisted numerous public school students in obtaining scholarships.
Through programs like A Child, A Skill and the Edo Heritage Sports Festival and Carnival, which combine education, skill development, and cultural preservation, she has increased her influence with MTN’s help.
Another speaker, program manager Veneyoze Osasere, emphasized how MTN’s family data plan has lowered internet expenses for youth mentorship programs, allowing young people to start enterprises and acquire new skills.
Similar to this, Twitter influencer Ogbebor Justice revealed how, with MTN’s help, he has trained young people in Web3 trading and cybersecurity using his platform, enrolling a large number of them in educational programs and assisting them in developing marketable skills.
MTN continues to share resilience stories through Go M.A.D., demonstrating that even modest deeds of kindness can have a significant impact on the world. The campaign strengthens the idea that every Nigerian has the capacity to change things by empowering grassroots changemakers.
