An unnamed guy and his companion were reportedly shot by gunmen at the Raptor club and lounge on Stadium Road in Benin City, the capital of Edo state.
According to reports, the tragedy happened early on Friday, December 13, 2024.
Reports about what would have caused the incident were mixed. But according to a source who asked to remain anonymous, the male victim got into a fight with a clubgoer with whom he shared drinks.
According to the source, the victim nevertheless expressed regret to the man.
According to him, “After the apology, his fellow guest who appeared to have accepted the apology went outside, unknown to the deceased that he had invited his friends.”
“As soon as the victim entered his white Lexus Jeep, gunmen emerged and shot him inside the vehicle.”
“The stray bullets also hit his girlfriend on the laps.”
The spokesman for the Edo state police Command, SP Moses Yamu, said investigation into the incident was ongoing.
Amu said: “The police received a distress call around 3am that there were gunshots at Raptop club along Stadium Road.
“The operatives of the command on reaching the scene went after the hoodlums. But they escaped and abandoned a pump action gun and two expended empty shells.”
“Two persons who were shot were evacuated to the hospital for medical attention while efforts are ongoing to arrest the perpetrators.”
