INEC Confirms Valid Voter Registration for Edo PDP Guber Candidate, Asue Ighodalo
The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has officially confirmed that Dr. Asue Ighodalo, the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) gubernatorial candidate for Edo State, possesses a valid Permanent Voter’s Card (PVC) and is duly registered to vote.
During proceedings at the Federal High Court in Abuja, INEC responded to a legal challenge regarding Ighodalo’s candidacy by presenting evidence that affirmed his voter registration status. This came in the wake of allegations by a competing PDP aspirant questioning the authenticity of Ighodalo’s PVC.
INEC’s documentary evidence and witness testimony substantiated that Ighodalo’s voter registration details are verifiable on the commission’s portal for the Idirio Primary School Polling Unit, Ewohimi Ward 1, Esan South East Local Government Area in Edo State.
With this confirmation, INEC has concluded its involvement in the ongoing legal dispute surrounding Ighodalo’s eligibility as the PDP flagbearer for the forthcoming Edo gubernatorial election.
