Governor Monday Okpebholo Begins Fulfilling Campaign Promises with Strategic Road Projects
Benin City, Edo State — Governor Monday Okpebholo’s administration is making remarkable progress in road infrastructure, ensuring improved mobility and connectivity across Edo State. Through a mix of continuity and innovation, the government is completing inherited projects while launching new road initiatives, reaffirming its commitment to modernizing the state’s transportation network.
Building on Past Efforts, Driving New Initiatives
Edo Today reports that Governor Okpebholo has not only sustained road projects initiated by his predecessor but has also introduced critical new developments, particularly within Benin metropolis.
A recent inspection of the Samuel Ogbemudia Stadium area in Ogbe community revealed that multiple Ogbewaise link roads—initially started by the past administration—have now been successfully completed. The newly laid asphalt has drastically improved traffic flow and accessibility in the area.
Similarly, work has resumed on the dualization and construction of Ekewan Road, a key project that had stalled near the Army Barracks under the previous government. Contractors have been re-engaged to complete the road extension up to the Ekewan Army Barracks, with ongoing asphalt work and the construction of a retentive pond to tackle erosion challenges.
