OVIA NORTH EAST (OKADA): Corps members assigned to the state have received assurances from Senator Monday Okpebholo, the governor of Edo State, about their safety, well-being, and security throughout their year of duty.
At the swearing-in ceremony for the 2024 Batch C Stream One corps members, which took place at the NYSC Permanent Orientation Camp in Okada, Ovia North-East Local Government Area, the governor, represented by his deputy, Rt Hon Dennis Idahosa, made the pledge. The National Youth Service Corps’ (NYSC) objective to empower young Nigerians, promote development, and bring the country together was highlighted by Governor Okpebholo.
He advised the corps members to learn the skills and information needed for a successful service year and to work closely with the NYSC management.
In her speech, NYSC State Coordinator Mrs. Ben-Ushie Francis urged the corps members to use the chance to make connections with individuals from a variety of backgrounds, forge networks for future opportunities, and form lifetime friendships.
The administration of the oath of loyalty, which was presided over by Justice Daniel Iyobosa Okungbowa, the Chief Judge of Edo State, and represented by Hon. Justice V.O. Eborieme, was a highlight of the occasion.
