Oladele Bankole-Balogun’s candidacy for the position of executive chairman of the Edo State Board of Internal Revenue has been approved by Monday Okpebholo, the governor of Edo State.
Born into the distinguished family of the late Chief Bankole Balogun of Igarra Akoko-Edo, Edo State, in 1961, Bankole-Balogun completed his education at the University of Ibadan (BSc Hons Political Science 1984), the University of London (LLB Hons Law), and the College of Law, Store Street, London (Postgraduate Diploma Law).
He is a member of the Nigeria Bar Association, the International Bar Association, the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators (UK), and the Law Society of England and Wales.
Bankole-Balogun has experience in a variety of human endeavors, including as the Federal Commissioner for the Public Complaints Commission (2012–2015), representing Edo State, and Principal Partner of Oladele Bankole-Balogun & Co. He formerly served as a member of the APC Campaign Council for the 2024 Edo State gubernatorial election and was a candidate for the House of Representatives in the Akoko Edo Federal Constituency.
Governor Okpebholo has also nominated Deacon Idiake Patrick Akhimien (representing Edo Central), Hon. Mike Ohio Ezomo (representing Edo North), and Hon. Engr. Jackson Eribo (representing Edo South) as additional members to serve as executive directors on the Edo State Board of Internal Revenue.
