Two people were killed in a traffic accident in the state, according to Cyril Mathew, the Edo State Sector Commander of the Federal Road Safety Corps, or FRSC.
According to the Sector Commander, the accident occurred on the Benin-Agbor route near the Ikhinero settlement. According to him, four additional occupants in the impacted cars also suffered injuries of varying severity.
Three vehicles were involved in the collision, according to the Sector Commander, who blamed the collision on overspeeding. He claims that speeding caused the collision to occur at approximately 6:10 p.m. on the Benin-Agbor route near the Guinness depot.
“Six persons including two male adults and four female adults were involved in the accident. Two were killed while four others were injured.
“The injured were rushed to the hospital for treatment while the deceased were deposited at the morgue”, he said.
He, however, charged motorists to drive safely, obey traffic rules and regulations, avoid night journeys and drunk driving and fasten their seat belts to reach their destinations safely during the yuletide.
