Edo Will Deliver 2.5 Million Votes for Tinubu in 2027 – Gov. Okpebholo

Governor Monday Okpebholo of Edo State says the state is ready to deliver 2.5 million votes for the re-election of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu in the 2027 general election.

Speaking at the Okaijesan Town Hall in Irrua, Esan Central Local Government Area on Monday, the governor made the declaration while receiving defectors from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) into the All Progressives Congress (APC).

Okpebholo described the defection as a significant political shift, saying it marks the end of PDP’s influence in his constituency.

“I want to commend the members of the PDP who have made the decision to join our great party, the APC. This defection is a testament to the fact that the PDP has lost relevance in Esan Central, my own constituency,” he said.

He added that the overwhelming support being received by the APC in the state is an endorsement of the Renewed Hope Agenda and the leadership of President Tinubu.

“In 2027, we will reward President Tinubu’s love for Edo with 2.5 million votes. The people have spoken through their actions. Edo is APC, and APC is the vehicle of our development under the Renewed Hope Agenda.”

Okpebholo assured the new APC members and the people of Edo that he would continue to prioritize development and good governance across the state.

“I will not fail you. I will continue to work diligently to ensure that Edo enjoys sustained development under my watch,” he added.

The Edo governor’s remarks come just two days after Gombe State Governor, Inuwa Yahaya, declared that the people of his state are fully committed to supporting President Tinubu in the next election.

“For what he has done, is doing, and will do, Gombe people will follow him to the battlefield blindfolded,” Yahaya had said on Saturday.

President Tinubu, elected in 2023, is expected to seek re-election in 2027 under the banner of the All Progressives Congress.
