In honor of his administration’s technological reforms that repositioned Edo as a frontier of digital innovation in Nigeria, the Association of Telecommunications Companies of Nigeria, or ATCON, named Godwin Obaseki the Digital Governor of the Year. The Edo State Chapter of the People’s Democratic Party, or PDP, has congratulated Obaseki, the state’s immediate former governor.
The party’s Caretaker Committee Chairman, Anthony Aziegbemi, signed a statement stating that Obaseki’s eight-year term from 2016 to 2024 modernized governance and enhanced public service delivery, utilizing technology to propel multisectoral growth and development and creating new opportunities for the populace, particularly young people.
The chairman went on to say that the state is now a national model for digital governance and sustainable development as a result of the former governor’s daring and revolutionary reforms that had a profound impact on a number of sectors, including education, health, infrastructure, the economy, agriculture, and civil and public service.
According to him, Godwin Obaseki would be known as a governor who improved the lives of his people and brought about economic growth, advancement, and rapid development in Edo State by making difficult decisions at the most unfavorable moment.
Anthony Aziegbemi, speaking on behalf of the PDP, acknowledged his influence and impressive accomplishments while expressing the party’s delight in having him as governor when they did.
He conveyed their wishes for Obaseki’s success in his future endeavours.
