Monday Okpebholo, the governor of Edo State, praised Peter Dunia and the members of the Ogbona Youth Forum for their generous donation of an ultra-modern police station with a fully equipped ICT center to the Nigeria Police Force,
He mentioned the initiative will significantly improve the safety of the lives and property of the residents of Ogbona Community in Etsako Central Local Government Area of the State.
During a tour of the newly constructed station, the governor praised the facility’s donors for their passion for the advancement and security of the local population and urged others to view the gesture as an inspiration and a call to work with the government to create a cohesive, peaceful, and forward-thinking society.
On his part, the Inspector General of Police, Kayode Egbetokun said Dunia has demonstrated his love towards his people.
The IGP, who was accompanied by Arungwa Nwaziue Udo, the Assistant Inspector-General of Police Zone 5 Benin, emphasized the need of using technology in law enforcement. He called this a crucial step in contemporary policing, which is focused on tracking down criminals.
He emphasized the need for community policing in maintaining security and peaceful coexistence while restating the necessity of community members being vigilant in keeping an eye on crime and other illegal activity.
