The Edo State Geographic Information Service has built two new offices in the state in an effort to provide its services more locally.
EDOGIS spokesperson Tunde Eigbiremolen said in a statement on Tuesday that the two offices are located in Auchi (Edo North) and Ekpoma (Edo Central).
He claimed that in order to manage the state’s land resources and computerize land throughout the state, the EDOGIS is required. He pointed out that in order to lessen land problems among its residents, the administration of Governor Monday Okpebholo has had to bring the services to the people’s level.
He added, “The EDOGIS office in Ekpoma is domiciled at the Esan West Local Government Council secretariat along the Ekpoma-Benin Expressway, while the one in Auchi is at the Estako West Local Government Secretariat building.”
“The idea behind opening the offices is to bring our service closer to the people by Governor Okpebholo administration’s people-oriented policy.”
