The All Progressives Congress (APC) in the state has welcomed back Hon. KayCee Osamwonyi, the EDHA representative for the Peoples Democratic Party’s Uhunwonde Constituency, less than twenty-four hours after taking over as the dominant party in the Edo State House of Assembly (EDHA).
In his speech, Hon. Osamwonyi revealed that he was in the ruling APC to work with the state government on Edo’s development and that his defection was made possible by supposed irreconcilable divides inside the PDP.
Osamwonyi said he was glad to be back in the party, noting that he joined politics to attract the dividend of democracy to the people of Uhunwonde Constituency, and with the blueprint of Okpebholo, his people will not be left out in the field of all-round development.
Jarrett Tenebe, the APC Chairman of Edo State, welcomed the new member of the party and stated that Osamwonyi’s decision to join the party was a sign of his desire to follow Governor Monday Okpebholo’s development train.
Tenebe welcomed the lawmaker into the APC and reiterated the party’s commitment to full implementation of the governor’s five-point agenda and campaign pledges.
In his remarks, he praised Governor Okpebholo for his “unprecedented” progress in less than a year in office, which he said has driven rival political parties into political obscurity.
