Gov. Okpebholo halts the hiring of Edo civil servants The committee chairman stated that on November 12, 2024, his group would embark on a fact-finding journey to uncover the current administration’s legacy of mismanagement.
He stated that his committee would remedy the shortcomings identified in the transition committee report to guarantee honesty, accountability, and transparency.
“We want to have full details of ongoing projects across the state, looking into financial and non-financial aspects of the government to present the facts the way they should be,” he said.
He added that the committee’s mandate “is to know the level of projects and to develop a pathway for the government’s development agenda.
Kassim Afegbua, a committee member, also denied claims made by the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) on the shutdown of the e-governance platform and the purported invasion of the state PDP secretariat.
The endeavor “is to ensure accountability, detect fraud, and ensure financial accountability by the past administration,” according to Patrick Obahiagbon, another committee member who spoke.
At the conclusion of the assignment, the committee’s report is anticipated to be released to the public.
