Monday Okpebholo, the governor of Edo State, has emphasized his administration’s resolve to carry out electioneering pledges by starting further development projects.

Speaking on Sunday during a ceremony held at the St. Anthony Catholic Cathedral in Uromi, Edo State, Okpebholo disclosed that he has granted a number of road contracts with the goal of improving the state’s infrastructure development.

Okpebholo, accompanied by important officials of his administration, thanked God for his electoral victories and the election petition tribunal’s favorable decision. He emphasized how crucial community collaboration is to advancing development and pledged that his administration will put forth great effort to enhance the quality of life for all.

In closing, the governor thanked God and the congregation for their support as he reflected on his journey and related his previous trips to the cathedral to ask for prayers during his campaigns for senator and governor. He gave the residents of Edo State the assurance that important changes are imminent in every area of state life.

The building of a dual carriageway between Uromi and Ubiaja is one of the noteworthy projects that has been announced. This move is intended to improve transportation connections and promote regional economic growth.

β€œWork has already commenced on the Ubiaja side, with plans for additional lanes reflecting our commitment to leaving a lasting legacy in the Esan region,” he stated.

In order to alleviate traffic, Okpebholo also indicated plans for alternate routes, such as a new road that would connect Uromi and Iworah via Unewa and Uwesan, where progress is already being seen.

As an act of goodwill, the governor donated to help the cathedral continue to grow, demonstrating his ties to the church and dedication to neighborhood projects. The governor stated that he wants to raise the general standard of living for citizens and support his administration’s emphasis on infrastructure development.

Following the killing in Uromi, the governor took steps to ensure calm in Uromi and the entire state, for which the Right Reverend Ogun Donatus Osa, Bishop of Uromi Diocese, expressed gratitude.

This was the first time a serving governor would visit the church to express gratitude to God alone, he said. In order to advance the State and improve the lives of its citizens, the Bishop called on the residents of Uromi and the entire State to work together with the Governor.
