Edo State Monarch Suspended By Gov. Okpebholo Over Kidnapping (DETAILS)

Due to recent incidents of ongoing kidnappings and murders in his territory, Sen. Monday Okpebholo, the governor of Edo State, has ordered Dr. George Oshiapi Egabor, the Okumagbe of Uwano Kingdom, Agenebode, Estako East Local Government Area of Edo State, to be suspended immediately.

According to the government, after a recent event that resulted in the murder of a palace chief, John Ikhamate, the competent authorities have since arrested Peter Omiogbemhi, the traditional ruler’s secretary.

A statement by Okpebholo’s Chief Press Secretary, Fred Itua, stated the suspension of the traditional ruler was indefinite.
