The governor’s special adviser on political mobilization and engagement, Hon. Utubor Eugene, has stated that the opposition PDP will soon come to an end in Edo State as more members of the PDP’s House of Assembly defect to the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC).
Additionally, he revealed that his frequent trips to certain communities, where he engaged with the locals on a grassroots level, provided him with firsthand knowledge and the chance to pinpoint some of the difficulties the people face.
He reassured the populace that the governor was prepared and dedicated to using his SHINE agenda to lessen their pain.
Eugene also criticized the PDP for politicizing the state’s security problems, pointing out that during its eight years in office, the party made token gestures toward addressing the problems of insecurity in the state.
He claimed that even before he was elected to the Senate, Governor Monday Okpebholo showed his dedication to the security issue by giving local vigilantes in the Edo Central senatorial district police cars and financial support.
He said, “I am just coming from a place where former leaders of the PDP are collapsing their structure to join us and by the next few weeks or months, Edo State would experience a political tsunami. They want to join hands with the governor to develop the state and I can tell you that in the next few months, there won’t be PDP in Edo State because Okpebholo is doing what the people want.”
“When the righteous rule, the people will rejoice. What do you expect from a governor who is performing? Why will they stay in the opposition? They are uniting with the governor to develop the state. They are tired of factions and infighting within their former party; they have no option than to join hands with the governor to build the state. More are still coming to us. They are happy with what the governor is doing.”
On the alleged politicization of insecurity, he said, “The PDP knows the cause of the insecurity in the state; it is expected when they tried to politicise it. This is a government that recently marked 100 days in office; apart from the days of Comrade Adams Oshiomhole, the PDP didn’t purchase a single Hilux for police operation.”
“Okpebholo, before he became a senator, bought vehicles for Atalakpa security outfit in Edo Central senatorial district. We thank God that we have a proactive governor who knows what to do at the right time and I can assure you that very soon, insecurity will be a thing of the past. “
