Delta State, like Edo State, is prepared to experience real governance under an APC administration, according to assurances made by national chairman of the All Progressive Congress (APC), Abdullahi Ganduje, and Edo State Governor Monday Okpebholo.
Over the weekend in Agbor, Delta State, the two and other party leaders in the South South stated when they welcomed Delta Unity Group (DUG) members into the APC.
They said the enormous defection of noteworthy politicians into the ruling APC in Edo and Delta States will unite and lead President Bola Tinubu to secure re-election in 2027.
“It is our turn to shine in the South South. It is now your turn in Delta. It is happening here, as it happened in Edo State.”
“President Bola Ahmed Tinubu is doing very well for the nation. He is repairing the foundation of the country for better prosperity. Because of that, in Edo state, we have started. We said 2027 is already possible. It is also possible here in Delta. I am here to appreciate and encourage my brother, the chairman of the Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC), Chiedu Ebie, and others.”
“Chiedu is an intelligent young man who knows when to move. It is time for Delta to move, and it is starting here with Ika people.”
Alhaji Abdullahi Ganduje, the national chairman of the APC, welcomed the decampees and characterized the DUG as “great fighters for democracy” who have given the party a powerful vehicle that will take it to the Delta state Government House in 2027.
He said, “We have the three Senators now. We have members of the House of Representatives and State Assembly members and over 60 per cent of the followers of PDP have now joined the APC. We are sure of taking over this state, come next election.”
“We are not surprised because of the timber and caliber of politicians you have in Delta State in the APC. What we require now is unity. Unity of purpose and unity to win election.”
so that we can offer Delta State’s citizens high-quality governance.
“Very soon, we will organize a stakeholders meeting for all those major stakeholders because they are all good people. They are all wise people. They are all intelligent people, and they are all democrats. So, all of them will be convened for unity, like the Delta Unity Group.” Ganduje stated.
Mr. Chiedu Ebie, the Chairman of the NDDC Governing Board, who gave the DUG the opportunity to join the APC, stated that their decision to join the party was motivated by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s passion for inclusion and good administration.
The monarch had earlier urged President Bola Tinubu to maintain peace and security throughout the nation in order to support the necessary development while at the Palace of the Dein of Agbor, Dr. Benjamin Ikenchukwu, Keagborekuzi 1st.
Among other party leaders, Senator Ned Nwoko of Delta North, Rep. Hon. Aeke Ibori-Suenu, the chairman of the House Committee on NDDC, and former Deputy Senate President Barr. Ovie Omo-Agege attended the rally.
