A block of land in the Government Reservation Area (GRA), Benin, whose Certificate of Occupancy (C of O) was revoked by former Governor Godwin Obaseki, has been returned to Chief James Ibori, a former governor of Delta State, by Edo State Governor Monday Okpebholo.
According to Paul Ohonbamu, Commissioner for Information and Communications, Obaseki transferred the land that had been taken from Ibori to Matthew Iduoriyekemwen, a PDP chieftain.
According to Ohonbamu’s testimony from yesterday, Okpebholo also gave Captain Nogie Megisson back a piece of land that Obaseki had wrongfully taken away from him.
Governor Okpebholo, according to the commissioner, thought Obaseki’s nefarious acts had political motivations.
