Comfort Folorunsho has been declared Absent Without Official Leave (AWOL) by the Edo Queens, the NWFL champions of the Nigeria Women’s Football League.
The announcement was announced by Edo Queens in a statement on Thursday. Despite having a running contract with Benin City, the club claimed that Folorunsho packed her things and left without telling the administration.
Other clubs were cautioned by Edo Queens not to hire her without first obtaining their consent. The management stated that they were willing to release her to any club that was interested in doing so in a professional and orderly way.
“The said player still has a running contract with Edo Queens FC, hence she has no right to leave without officially informing the club of her whereabouts,” Edo Queens stated.
“This notice is to warn clubs not to engage her services without due clearance from Edo Queens FC.”
