A man named Tega Best has been taken into custody by Edo State Police Command agents for reportedly planning his own kidnapping in Edo State.
It was learned that the suspect staged his own kidnapping on Friday in the Okhue village. It was discovered that following the supposed abduction, his cronies contacted his relatives and requested an undisclosed sum in exchange for his release.
The suspect was reportedly arrested after the police were notified of the event. Additionally, our reporter learned that the suspect staged his own kidnapping in order to obtain money from his parents during the course of the investigation.
CSP Moses Yamu, the Edo State command spokesperson, verified the event when called.
He said the suspect was in police custody and would be charged to court as soon as the investigation was completed.
