In a statement released yesterday in Benin, the chairman of the board, Mr. Oladele Bankole-Balogun, was quoted by the Edo State Internal Revenue Service (EIRS) Head of Communications, Courage Eboigbe, as saying that the state’s Internally Generated Revenue (IGR) increased from N7.2 billion in December to N10.4 billion in January.
Bankole-Balogun credited this accomplishment to Governor Monday Okpebholo’s visionary leadership since taking office last November.
“In just 100 days, Governor Okpebholo’s leadership has enabled the EIRS to achieve an all-time revenue milestone, offering reassurance to the people that their future is bright and secure,” he said.
He furthermore said the governor had revitalised critical infrastructure using unprecedented speed, ensuring security and creating tangible change for the citizens.
“The governor is transforming his promises into reality under strong leadership,” he said.
“In spite of skepticism, Edo has regained hope with new roads, rehabilitated infrastructure and a bolstered security system,” he said.
