The Permanent Secretary of the office of the Deputy Governor, Mrs. Eki Abieyuwa Oyemwense, Friday Aghedo, the Chief Press Secretary to the Deputy Governor, and other dignitaries attended the inauguration of the State’s 4th Sports Festival Organizing Committee, which was held in the conference room of the Deputy Governor’s office at Government House, Benin City, and was attended by the Deputy Governor of Edo State, Rt. Hon. Dennis Idahosa.
Idahosa expressed confidence in the composition of the team, noting that he is hopeful that the team will deliver a great victory, which will prepare Edo to stand out in the upcoming national sports competitions.
In order to succeed at the 22nd National Sports Festival, the Deputy Governor promised that the State’s Sports Festival will encourage neighborhood sports events and the discovery of potential.
He concluded by inaugurating the Committee, saying, “On this note, distinguished ladies and gentlemen, it is my honour and privilege to formally inaugurate the Organising Committee of the Edo State Sports Festival to the glory of God and service to humanity”.
In his speech, Hon. Amadin Desmond Enabulele, the chairman of the organizing committee, thanked the deputy governor for putting his trust in the committee and promised that it would work to put Edo at the top of the subnational sports rankings.
