The Edo State Skills Development Agency (EdoJobs), which aims to create jobs, money, and human capital, has revealed intentions to train 25,000 young people in a variety of skills during the fiscal year 2025.
When the executive members of the Grassroots Massive Mobilization Support Group (GMMSG) of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Edo State Chapter, paid him a courtesy call on Thursday in Benin City, Kerimu Kelly, the agency’s managing director, said as much.
In addition to stating that plans had been reached to begin with training in hairdressing, vulcanizing, and fashion design, he stated the project was a component of the State Government’s efforts to empower youth and make them self-sufficient.
“I am always passionate about the grassroot and what we do here is to train with the support of the government and other partners like the World Bank.”
“We will continue to partner with you. We will ensure the age-long partnership is reactivated. We have drawn up our activities for the year and we will find a way to incorporate you. We will see how to fix the group,” he said.
The group’s coordinator, Omoyemwen Adeyinka-Afolabi, had earlier stated that the purpose of the visit was to become acquainted with the office as a youth development partner. She also explained that the group has been facilitating communication between the state government and grassroots youths for years through the EdoJobs training.
