In his first meeting with the entire staff of the Edo State Geographic Information Service (EdoGIS), Dr. Tony Ikpasaja, the new Managing Director, spoke on behalf of the State Governor and said that the government was ready to put an end to the land grabbing problem in record time.
He specifically scowled at the threat of land racketeering on government lands in Auchi, Edo North Senatorial District.
The MD stated that his leadership’s top priority is to increase the agency’s revenue base in accordance with the governor’s directive and look for ways to motivate the entire workforce through various incentives that will improve their welfare.
Dr. Ikpasaja made hints that he was already aware of land grab incidents that had been reported in various parts of the state, most recently in Auchi, Edo North. He warned staff members not to conspire or work with dishonest people to promote the unwholesome activity, which he warned would be met with severe consequences if it was found.
He promised to bring back the necessary incentives to motivate them, and he advised them to always arrive early to work and to be dedicated to their given jobs in order to accomplish the Agency’s aim. The MD pledged to implement an open-door policy based on confidentiality, and the interactive session gave staff members the chance to ask questions and receive answers.
It will be recalled that on resumption as the new Managing Director of EDOGIS on Monday, January 6,2025, Dr Tony Ikpasaja immediately hit the ground running when he met with the Management Team who led him on a guided tour of the Departments and units where he interfaced with members of Staff at their duty posts.
