During the presentation of the appointment letter to Ms. Flourish Evbuomwan on January 6, 2024, at the State Government House, the Edo State Head of Service, Dr. Anthony Okungbowa Esq., emphasized the Governor’s commitment to keeping his word, which he made during a condolence visit to the family.
He expressed optimism in Ms. Evbuomwan’s ability to uphold her father’s legacy of hard work and dedication to civil service.
The governor of Edo State, Senator Monday Okpebholo, has fulfilled a promise made to the family of the late Kaduna Eboigbodin, a civil activist and former chairman of the Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) Edo State chapter.
According to Okungbowa: “I am pleased to announce that the Governor’s desire to bring the young woman into the service has been accomplished. Mr. Governor insisted on the immediate fulfillment of his promise.”
“She has been appointed as a Scientific Officer in the Health Management Agency, where hopefully she would work as hard as her father did and make all of us proud by being a dependable civil servant that the Governor wants her to be.”
Expressing her gratitude for the job opportunity, Ms. Flourish Evbuomwan thanked the Governor for the gesture, describing it as both an employment opportunity and a recognition of her late father’s contributions to the Edo State civil society.
She expressed: “On behalf of myself and my family, I extend my heartfelt thanks to His Excellency, Senator Monday Okpebholo, for this automatic employment. It demonstrates that hard work truly pays. This is not just an employment for me but an honor to my family, recognizing the service and sacrifices of my late father, Comrade Kaduna Eboigbodin.”
“I promise to perform my duties diligently for the growth and progress of Edo State.”
Recall that the late Kaduna Eboigbodin, a prominent labor leader, had tragically passed away following an altercation with police officers at a roadblock in the Upper Sakponba area of Benin City.
