The Edo State Muslim Pilgrims Welfare Board has received praise from HRH Alhaji W. O. Momodu, the Ojirrua of Irrua, for organizing the state’s first-ever Hajj sensitization event in Edo Central.
The traditional ruler, who hosted the board’s team in his palace, thanked the current administration for introducing the sensitization program to the area and underlined the significance of such efforts in guaranteeing Muslims in the area a successful and seamless Hajj experience.
Taking full advantage of the occasion, he also urged the state government to think about offering Hajj spots to Muslims in the Esan area when it comes to funding Muslim travel to the holy area.
In remarks made at the recent event at Irrua Central Mosque, Mallam Musah Muhammad Uduimoh, the chairman of the Edo State Muslim Pilgrims Welfare Board, and Alhaji Eranga Muhammadkabir Abdulkabir, the board’s executive secretary, reassured pilgrims that the board would be there to support them throughout the Hajj journey and urged everyone to work together to make sure the pilgrimage went smoothly.
They pointed out that the purpose of the event is to get local pilgrims who plan to make the journey ready for it.
All of the Imaams and members of the Edo Central Muslim community attended the sensitization session, which gave them important information about the requirements and procedures for the Hajj as well as the recently introduced installment payment option, which enables pilgrims to make partial payments ranging from 1 million to 8.4 million Naira.
The Board reiterated its commitment to providing a spiritually enriching and memorable Hajj experience for all intending pilgrims.
