According to the Joint Admission and Matriculation Board (JAMB), the top 13 scorers in the 2024 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) are jointly led by Edo State and Akwa Ibom.
According to JAMB, the biggest number of students in the top 13 scorers list were from Akwa Ibom and Edo States, even though Olowu David from Ondo State, Alayande David from Oyo State, and Orukpe Joel from Edo State all scored scores of 367 to top the list.Akwa Ibom State produced Emmanuel Jeremiah (366), Essiet Etini (365), and Umoh Joshua (365).
On the other hand, Edo State had Etute Emmanuel 363; Mamudu Abdulraham 364; and Orukpe Joel 367.The sole Abia State contender to make the list is Ezenwoko Zara, who had a score of 365; Adeleke Abdulbasit, who received a score of 363 from Kwara, also made the list.
Similarly, the only candidates from Rivers are Echem Victor (363), and the only candidates from Imo Stateland are Jedidah Chidiebube (363). Adesanya Oluwatimilehin is the only player from Ogun State with a score of 363 points. Ishaq Oloyede, the JAMB registrar, emphasized the tough nature of the 2024 UTME and praised the candidates for their outstanding performance.
Oloyede was proud of these pupils’ accomplishments and emphasized the value of perseverance, hard effort, and discipline in reaching academic success. He pointed out that the highest scorers had inspired students nationwide and set a high bar for aspiring applicants.
The registrar of the tertiary institutions entrance examination umpire board also reaffirmed the organization’s dedication to upholding the validity and integrity of its testing procedure.
He encouraged all UTME candidates to remain focused and diligent in their academic pursuits, assuring them of the board’s dedication to ensuring a fair and transparent examination process.
