Governor Okpebholo told the committee two weeks to fulfill its task and guarantee that government cars in private ownership are completely retrieved before being transferred back to the state government.
Kelly Okungbowa, the chairman of the committee, promised that they will do the task.
He noted that a lot of government vehicles were in private hands and the committee would ensure they are recovered within the stipulated time.
“A lot of vehicles used by the past administration are missing as those in custody of the vehicles have refused to return them. The governor deemed it fit to inaugurate us today (Friday) with a mandate to recover all government vehicles in private hands.
“I am the chairman while my vice is the former Speaker of the Edo State House of Assembly EDHA, Rt. Hon. Victor Edoror. We have our members across the three senatorial districts in Edo State and we are ready to do the job, abiding by the law,” he said.
He made an appeal to the public to let the committee know if they knew of anyone who was still retaining government vehicles in their homes so that it could retrieve them for the state government.
