Since taking office on Wednesday, November 20, 2024, Dr. Cyril Adams Oshiomhole, the recently appointed Edo State Commissioner for Health, has been touring the Ministry’s facilities at the State Secretariat Complex and other important medical facilities in Benin City.
The Commissioner promised to maintain an open-door policy while on the trip, escorted by directors from several ministries and Dr. Stanley Ehiarimwian, Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Health. He promised to coordinate his efforts with State Governor Sen. Monday Okpebholo’s agenda.
The Ogbe Nursing Home, the Sickle Cell Center, the Pediatric Wing of the Central Hospital, the Edo Specialist Hospital, and the Stella Obasanjo Hospital are among the medical facilities that the Commissioner and his team visited.
Additionally, Dr. Oshiomole visited the Central Hospital’s former location, which is presently undergoing renovations to become the Museum of West African Arts (MOWAA). He claimed that the purpose of the tour was to show him the state of the facilities.
The Commissioner recognized that even in the early days of the Administration, efforts were being made to provide Edo citizens with high-quality healthcare services, and he praised the State Governor’s commitment to enhancing healthcare
delivery.
